Checking the traffic condition:
Choose a city from a "Us major cities" or "Canada major cities", or type an address in the "Location" box and click "Go" button.
If the location was found, the map will show available traffic alerts around the location you've searched for. To see more alerts, zoom out the map (click "-" sign).
Click an alert marker on the map to see additional information about the alert.

Adding an alert
Click "Jot new alert" button on the map (the green button).

New marker will be added to the map. The marker is flashing so that it is really easy to see which marker you are editing. Click the desired location on the map, or drag the flashing marker to the desired location: do not forget this step - it is obviously important to place the marker at the right spot.

The right hand side panel " Alert Info" will allow you to input the alert information:

Type in the location: ex: "Houston st & Broadway st."
Choose Alert type: ex: "Traffic not moving."
Choose Alert cause: ex: "Unknown"
Choose traffic direction: ex: "All".
You can make an optional selection of when the event has occurred, and/or how long you were delayed.
In the "Additional information" box you can type the additional details you would like to share with the community. Try to keep the information relevant to the actual event.
If all mandatory information is provided the "Save" button will become enabled:

Click the "Save" button.
That's it! You have successfully added a new alert. Now everybody knows that there is a traffic jam at Houston st & Broadway st.
